These are the terms for using Umzug. They're short on purpose. By signing in, you agree to them.

A free, invite-only pilot

Umzug is in a pilot: a small number of business owners, each invited, using it for free while it's being finished. Umzug doesn't charge you anything during the pilot. It pays for the AI work and the hosting itself, up to a spending limit for each site; if a site reaches its limit, Umzug stops and tells you, and you can get in touch to have it raised.

If Umzug ever starts charging, it will tell you first, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

Umzug may change or end the pilot. If it ends, you'll get at least 30 days' notice by email, so you can download your site or move it to your own Vercel account before Umzug stops hosting it. [Matthew: confirm 30 days.]

What Umzug does

Umzug reads your old site, proposes a new design, makes your new site from your own words and photos, publishes it on its host, helps you point your domain at it without touching your email, and watches it for 30 days after your domain moves.

What Umzug doesn't promise

• AI does much of the work. Umzug checks that work, and shows it to you before anything goes live, but it can't guarantee it's free of mistakes. Look over your new site before you publish it, especially prices, hours and anything legal or medical.
• No promise of uptime. Umzug works hard to keep your site online, but during the pilot it can't promise it never goes down.
• No promise about search rankings, or that your site will bring in a given amount of business.
• Your old platform is yours to manage. Umzug doesn't cancel your Squarespace, Wix or Webflow plan, and doesn't touch your email. Keep your old site until you're happy with the new one.

Your site is yours

You own your site: your words, your photos, your business's name and logo, and the new site Umzug makes for you, design included.

You let Umzug use them only to make, host and look after your site. That includes showing them to the companies named in the privacy policy, only for that work. Umzug won't use your site or anything in it for anything else, such as showing it off as an example, without asking you first.

You can download your whole site any time, move it to your own Vercel account, or delete it.

What you agree to

• Only move a site you have the right to move. Umzug asks you to prove a site is yours before it designs or publishes anything for it.
• Don't use Umzug for anything illegal, or to publish anything you don't have the right to publish.
• Keep your email account safe: signing in to Umzug works through it.

Umzug may stop working on a site that breaks these terms.

Leaving

You can stop whenever you like. Download your site, move it to your own Vercel account, or delete it and everything Umzug kept for it, from your account page. You can delete your whole account there too. The privacy policy says exactly what deleting does.

The legal part

Umzug is provided as it is, for free, during a pilot. As far as the law allows, Umzug isn't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost business or lost data, and its total responsibility to you is limited. Keep your own download of your site. If these terms change in a way that matters, Umzug will email you before they do.
